Caroline Szandurski - 1st Horn

Caroline is originally from Aspatria, in the North West of Cumbria. She started playing cornet at the age of 8, at her primary school. She moved onto horn before she left to go to secondary school.

Caroline played with the Dearham Junior Band from the age of 12 and soon progressed into the senior band. She was lucky enough to travel to Chicago with the band in 2004 and compete in the U.S Open where the band gained a respectable 3rd place. Four months later the band became the North of England 3rd section champions, followed by a trip to Harrogate. Since then, she has travelled to Amboise in France twice and competed in the French Open.

In September 2008, Caroline began to study music at The University of Salford and is currently in her 2nd year. After she graduates she intends to study for a PGCE.

Caroline joined Blackburn and Darwen in August 2009 and has already enjoyed trips to Harrogate and Prestatyn.
