As part of Blackburn & Darwen Band 175th anniversary celebrations the band have returned from an Easter tour of France. The band set off from Darwen on Thursday 2nd April to travel from Dover to Calais and then travelling onto the first stop in Douai. On Friday the band were hosts of Brassband Douai and played an excellent joint concert in Auditorium Henri Dutilleux de Douai.
Saturday the band travelled to Paris and had the chance to visit all the sights. On Sunday the band played in Jardin du Luxembourg in front of a very enthusiastic audience of around 1000 and was a concert the band will remember for a long time.
On Monday the band headed north towards Amiens and played another super concert in the bandstand conducted by Musical Director Huw Thomas. The band arrived home on Tuesday after a very enjoyable tour. Special thanks to our deps from local bands who helped make this a trip to remember.
