At the start of our 175th anniversary we set out to find teetotallers to help the band raise money towards buying a new much needed Bb Bass. We are absolutely delighted to inform you that we have reached our 175 target and thank you all sincerely for your support.

We started our festive season with a fabulous concert at Bolton Parish Church. Our guests for the evening were the wonderful Bolton School Junior Boys Choir. Thanks to all who made this concert a success.

Sunday 5th we played in our annual local concert at Darwen Library Theatre to a packed house. Thanks to the very enthusiastic audience we'd still be there now if we didn't have to head off to Pleasington Golf Club!

We've just another 8 engagements to play at before we can have a well earned rest! Thank you so much to our fantastic supporters we really do appreciate your support and hope you all have a lovely Christmas and a happy new year.

The Scottish Open was the last contest for our solo euphonium player Boonyarit affectionately known as Tee. He will travel home to Thailand in January and we will miss him lots. He has been a great asset to the band and we wish him all the very best for the future. Who knows we might even go on a band tour!!

We now have a vacancy for this seat as well as a couple of cornet players, positions negotiable. Please contact us in confidence if you wish to apply for these vacancies. We would love to hear from you. Contact Rhiannon on 07877 119194.

The band competed in the Scottish Open in Perth last weekend playing a new work by Howard Snell entitled 'Gallery'. The contest attracted 14 very good bands from around the country and B&D recieived their highest placing ever at the contest coming 8th, this result should see us rise in the World rankings once again.

Thanks to our dep players for their help.
