Blackburn and Darwen Band is a voluntary organisation. Our purpose is to promote the education and recreation of members of the Band and the general public, and for the improvement of their appreciation and enjoyment of music.

Our organisation consists of 3 bands:

The Junior Band

The Band exists to engage and enthuse children (and adults) in music making, and to help

them progress within our organisation.

Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings @ 6.45-7.45pm.

Darwen Brass

This is our intermediate band. Its aim is to foster players and help them to achieve a higher level of playing, so they can ultimately advance to the Senior Band.

Rehearsals are on Monday & Thursday evenings @ 8-10pm.

Blackburn and Darwen Band

The ‘Senior Band’, as it is known, is currently graded in the First Section by the British Brass

Band Registry.

Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings @ 8-10pm & Sunday evenings @ 7.30 - 9.30pm.

We are very proud of this 3 tier system, and of the players that have progressed though each of these bands. Many have gone on to play with some of the country’s finest bands, or have pursued successful careers in music.

All 3 bands are very active in the local community, performing at concerts, services, galas and many other events throughout the year. If you would like more information about any of the bands, or would be interested in making a booking, please do not hesitate to contact us.
