Sue Speakman - 1st Horn

Sue joined the band in 1977 playing cornet at the tender age of 12, influenced by her father Bill who played the trumpet in a dance band. Her grandfather played trombone in the Hoddlesden & Pickup Bank Band and her great grandfather was conductor.

Sue's highlight of her playing career was playing at the Royal Albert Hall although the band played number one and the only people in the audience were the cleaners!

Sue works as an ICT Technician at a primary school and admits to being a bit of a computer nerd! Sue is also the band's web mistress!
