Tommy Stringfellow - BBb Bass

Tommy began his musical pursuits at the age of 9, and has played many brass band instruments over the years including successful spells playing the Euphonium and Baritone.

He is known for his ability to ‘pedal’ i.e. to play notes that are so low that surrounding buildings begin to shake. Using his Tuba he is able to communicate over varying distances of up to many miles with Whales, Hippopotamuses, Elephants, Opaki and Alligators!

Tommy is enjoying his second stint with the band, the first being in the early 1980s. His happiest moment in banding was winning the Pontins contest with Swinton, playing Year of the Dragon. He has played with many fine bands in the area such as Wingates, Leyland, Swinton, CWS Manchester and Trafford.
