Derek Johnson - BBb Bass

Derek started playing a baritione pre Beatles and played in the first school band ever to play in an adult band contest at Bellvue Manachester. Later with the "Sunderland Youth International Concert Band" he toured Canada + USA, Norway,Germany and Austria.

Derek gave up banding for a few years and some how arrived in Darwen in 1979 and joined Darwen Band on bass for 6 months. He gave up banding once again moved to Lincolnshire and before returning to Lancashire in 1984 and joining Darwen band for a second time. Derek played in Grand Shield winning band, and probably holds the record for the number of times he has left and rejoined the band in the last 20 years!
