Matthew Lloyd - Percussion

When Matthew joined Blackburn and Darwen Band in October 2007 he began a new chapter in his musical life, as we are the first brass band he has played for! He plays a variety of Percussion instruments and is an accomplished Keyboard and Organ player.

Matthew is a qualified Live Sound Engineer. Not only does he know how to switch a microphone on, but he can change the batteries too! Although he would like to do this as a full time career, he currently works on a casual basis with a Kylie Minogue tribute band, Miss Kylie (please can we do a joint concert, Matthew?)

And if all that wasn’t enough to keep him busy, Matthew also builds display units for a living, coaches Basketball at Failsworth School, dabbles in dance Choreography and still finds time to come to our rehearsals!
