Colin Harrison - Contest Secretary

Colin first became associated with the band in1986 when his daughter Donna joined on cornet after her music teacher Leslie Lever (who played 2nd Baritone) recommended her to George Wood. After about 12 months George asked Colin to take some workload off him by becoming the Contest Secretary. Since that time Banding has become a great passion for him and his greatest moment was winning the Grand Shield in 1987.

Colin has made some good friends over the years,George Wood, Jack Thomas and Vince Booth in particular, who all gave fantastic, loyal service to the band.

Another passion of Colin's is football, he has supported Bury FC for 50 years and has a difficult decision to make when a game clashes with rehearsal!
